Warming up…

At last, the bones of this old building are feeling some warmth!!

We scoured the internet, looking for an efficient stove with clean, minimal lines, which would provide us with enough oomph to radiate heat throughout this big space. In the end, we opted for a Barbas Box, which is designed and engineered in Holland, sourced through Inverness’ Bonk and Co and it was installed by the dynamic duo of Craig and Jodie, a few weeks ago.

What a difference it’s already made to this space!

Meanwhile, we’re making gentle progress on the rest of the renovation - slowly, but surely. With our builder Tim only able to be here about 6 days a month, we are doing what we can between his visits, like painting all of the new wood panelling and grouting the floor tiles. Fiddly and back-achingly slow work, but right up my street.

We had a seemingly unending wait for the new main door and sea-facing window, which came to us from Norway. Great excitement here and this beautiful duo have now utterly transformed the entrance!
